Re: Switchblade quiver advice

Hey Rocktor! You have the Mako King so you have pretty good planability. Let's assume you get the 8m. The King will assist you when the wind hits the lighter side of 8m conditions. But if Hatteras goes off and blows steady 30mph then I believe you will be overpowered and skimming along with that Ki...

lowend 2013 is not so :thumb:
How bad is the low end? Was thinking about getting a 2013 actually. 2014's are way too expensive right now. And 2012's are nowhere to be found.

Wt 185 lbs. currently own a 14 and 11 sb's. mostly ride my 14 on local light wind conditions but traveling to hatteras this October and looking to expand my quiver for high winds. Re: A doctor with kiting experience on this forum ?

The body releases stress hormones http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stress_hormone during kiting which are epinephrine ( adrenaline ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epinephrine and cortisol http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cortisol. Epinephrine creates a "flight, freight or fight" response and inhibits sleep. ...

Re: Kitesurf Fatality in Germany

Condolences to the family and glad you made it fine DrLW. I have been in a similar kitemare before when after I had to punch out, the lines wrapped tightly around both my ankles. I somehow managed to self rescue. Ever since I have been wanting to carry a real knife and not a wimpy hook knife. So wha...

Re: Mako 165 in high wind?

Okay here's my position...so far... The 140/165 combo works really well if you are set on the mako feel, the mako performance and what a Mako has to offer. The king can be pushed and useable to the upper range of a kite you may be on. Hence easy to change to the 140 and continue. I still maintian t...

Mako 165 in high wind?

How is the Ocean Rodeo Mako 165 in high winds? It is a huge board but also gas a nice rocker. I just picked up this board because of how well it handles chop but wondering if i should get a smaller mako for winds 20-25 kts. I weigh 185 lbs. Any mako riders with some input?
