Re: Nubie Alert: Avoid F1 boards and Mystic Harnesses

We are happy with the Mystic harnesses but have bad experiences with their drysuits (zip breaking too easily.
As for F1: no experience.

Re: KSP Ponta Preta 2011 - Day 2

Perpaps one day we'll need to consider trying to hold such an event at the other island: Sao Vicente. Like we've measure so many times (1-2 knots more in at Salamansa compared to kitebeach), Salamansa bay the same day started with 15 knots in the morning and had 17 knots throughout the afternoon.

Re: Destination 2012

Hi Matt We (Ola & myself) run a new kitesurf center on São Vicente (a Cabo Verde island). Water is warm, wind blows 90-99% of the time, our location (Salamansa) has waves and a small flat water area. Flights are getting better (direct from Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon). If you are from Italy, Neos wi...

Re: Kitesurf destination in february for kiting

Sao Vicente is an option
At Salamansa bay we have waves and a flat water area.
Wind statistics are great (perhaps even 1-2 knots more wind compared to the other Cape Verde islands).

Re: Windy (with waves) Destinations By Month

OK. Here's a start providing a description for São Vicente (one of the Cape Verde islands). In general for the island, % of time with 11-25 knots is 90-99% November - June with 16-17 knots being most common. For the 2 main spots (there are at least 3 others): Salamansa 2 Point breaks that work best ...

Re: kitesurfing in November

Hi Jason, I run a kitesurf center so I am biased but cannot resist to reply because it seem so obvious... consider Sao Vicente (one of the Cape Verde islands). The only VERY negative point: getting the flight INFO is virtually impossible! (the flying is convenient and not expensive). Because it is s...

Choosing a kitesurf destination: wind statistics

Have you ever booked a holiday expecting to be on the water most days only to find that the wind does not turn up? Why is it that the wind-statistics of a new destination look so good and that often when you arrive there the actual experience is so poor? Part of the reason is that we are not very go...

Re: Going higher – a new dimension to kiting

FYI The kite is a 19m Flysurfer Speed adapted to paraglide and kitesurf. The spot (Praia Grande) has cross-onsore wind (more onshore at this particular place). Wind is usually 16-18 knots with an updraft at the mountain slope and a windshadow at the foot of the mountains (hence the controlled landin...

Re: Cape verde Car Rental?

Here's some info on car hire:

Keep in mind: not all of the Cape Verde islands are the same: there is a LOT to discover on Santo Antao and Sao Vicente.
