Spots in Sicily

Postby Flysurfer_in _DC » Sun Sep 07, 2003 6:26 pm

We'll be in Sicily in 2 weeks. If the wind is there, we may try to kite. Is there a good spot to kite?. Are there some shops or school that rent kites and boards?

Thanks

When exactly are you going there?
I know only two spots (Stagnoni and South East Pozzallo)
Give more information, I am planning to go there from 18 to 23 sept.
Bye

Sicily Super Kite Spots

Postby Flysurfer_in _DC » Wed Sep 10, 2003 4:34 am

Thanks -

We plan to be there from September 22 to the 29.
I know only two spots (Stagnoni and South East Pozzallo)
Where are these 2 spots?
Do they have places to rent kites?

We will arrive at Palermo, then we'll drive west a bit and then to Agrigento. Then Syracuse and Aetna.

Thanks
-Marc

The best and most recognized spot in Sicily is called Stagnone (Marsala) close to Trapani - From Palermo I think it is not far.
If you go from Palermo to Marsala by car I am sure will be easy to find the spot and a school to rent kites and boards. Average wind is 15-20 knots and it is full of italian pro kiters.

The other spots are on the south east cost, less crowded, no hassles, a lot of winds, but also would be difficult to find rentals.
150 Km from Etna and from Agrigento
Actually in any place between Pozzallo (Ragusa) and Donnalucata (Ragusa) you can find kiters on the beach every month.
