Line length differences Naish and North

I bought a new Best bar and want to use it for my Best, North and Naish kites.

Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in line length ( steering and depower) between the brands.

Set up your bar and lines so that all 4 are equal length when the chicken loop and adjument strap are set for maximum line length. That works as a good starting point for Naish and North and I believe most kites.

Be careful. For North kites connect the front lines shorter by about 20-25 cm. as a starting point (just make additional knots near the bar on the chicken-loop cords).
Pull the trimming leash for minimum power when launching.
Otherwise the kite will have full power when launching and you don't want that !

This is not correct. At the North kite website you will find kite manuals. The Rhino4 manual says "Before flying your kite, make sure that the ends of all four lines are the same distance from the control bar."

Most kites work this way, but you might adjust this by a few cm to suit your riding preference.

For a more advanced riding style, try shortening your BACK lines a few cm so you have more power even when your chicken loop is extended. This speeds up your kite response during jumps, but limits your depower capability.

I'm not going to argue with the manual, but I have practical experience .

You can see many threades about this topic and you'll see that the recommendation for single bar-multiple kites the North kites front lines should be shorter.

Did you try it? or your advise is theoretical from the manual?
Not trying to bug you, but to reflect on the following:
We all want to help and advise, but we should be carefull as an unintentional wrong advise might cause undesired situations.

my personal expirience: I ve got a rhino 4 12 and a naish x4 16 which I use with the same north scepter bar with 27 mt lines. When I fly the X4 I have to adjust my back lines to be about 15 cm longer then when I fly the rhino.
My advise, is to try different settings on a low wind day and fine tune latter. I takes a few minutes but it's worth it.

If you want to use the same bar with kites of different size/brands, the 4 lines equal setup is the right one. If you need some adjustment, play with the lengh of the kite pigtails.

Hi,

I use the same bar & lines for all my kites (R04 12m & 16m, Nemesis 10m & 8m).
The only difference for the nemesis that i have tried is that they require 10-15 cm longer back lines. This is valid for the 8m, 10m, and 16m(borrowed) Nemesis.
