To Ray-au

To say the comments about the Spitfire you did, you obviously do not have one. The 14m turns super fast on the 19 inch bar and pivots killer for kite loops. As far as wave ridding it is one of the best. Check some video and come to waddell for a clinic on how to wave ride. I have a front row seat to watch the team guys rip the waves up around here everyday.

If they were so bad for the waves why did the following wave specialists start riding for Caution. Cuck Patterson, Dylan Grafmyer, Teiva Joyeux, Garfield King, and Bruce

Just to clear up things, before the spitfire , I had X2 and X3 the X3 was actually better than the spitfire in a lot of respects, but it required extreme input, which meant after 1/2 hour I was wasted, so the fun factor was pretty low and I got rid of them, spitfire is easier to fly and get good performance from, but not every kite does everythig, right?
So if you go hard, and your skill level is pretty good , you will come to the limits of a kite pretty quick, and I have found that certain kites only work well for riders of a specific weight

Ray-au, could you elaborate on some of your points, please?
When you say that certain kites only work well for riders of a certain weight, do you mean the Spitfire?
If so, what is your weight and do you think that Spitfire will work better for lighter or heavier riders?
When you talk about kite limits, do you mean that Spitfire is a kite you have easily hit the limits of (in what ways)?

Cheers,
Mari-zu

To Ray-au:

The more you write the more you admit you know nothing about the Spitfire Kites. A lot of people have come off the X3 kites and are blown away by the jumps, and speed of the Spitfire kites. It sounds like to me that you do not have your kite tuned properly and are over sheeting the 14m kite stalling it out. You need to shorten your center lines and c-loop line.

No Naish riders rode the X3 becuase it sucks and for you to say you liked it, well?

Ok , heres the facts!
I have actually got 2 spitfires ( cant imagine why BIG TOMMY would state Im lying!)
But if you cant find a single bad point about any kite you are obviosly naive or just dumb, or you are selling the stuff.
So the Spitfires are good kites but not perfect, and next seasons kite is gonna be even better right? As for waveriding ,the 14m drops, ( admittedly in the upper windrange its not so dramatic , but still not good)
The 10 m spitfire is a great kite, probably the best 10 ive tried, but still got to watch out in the waves.
Oh yeah! nearly forgot! kite leash can get stuck on the knots when you release, but this only happens if your maxed out and can be moddified, the vinyl corner protectors look pretty crappy too.
To the wheight thing, in my experience, some of the heavier guys do better on kites with more bottom end , like Slingshot fuel this depends on your styl though, if you just want to go high, most high aspect quick turners are ok, Im 90kg s and hated my X3 10 m (exept in waves)but most guys 65- 75kgs had a ball

To how hard do you pump the leading edge? As long as you can pump without grinning your teeth or what?

Am I able to damage the kite by pumping it up too much? I like solid kites and this the way to do it I guess?

Thanks
