From June on, there will be a KITE BEACH in Cabanas de Tavira, Algarve - Portugal. It's a 300m kitebeach for kitesurf only(!) with life-guards, rescue boat and some more support.
Feel free to join us!
"THE" spot in the Algarve where you are free and safe to do what you like best: Kitesurfing!
Stay safe,
Sandra

Very interesting... Where can we get more info? Photos, prices, etc?
Also: what is the water temperature in mid June? Would I need a wetsuit?
Thanks.

Hi puchanix,
If you don't need help/support you don't need to pay. Just enjoy!
To have special/extra advantages you can join in and associate yourself.
You can look for the kite beach Ilha de Cabanas de Tavira on the internet. Easyly you'll find it.
Mid June you are very well either with a shorty or just a rash and shorts (if you're normally not to cold)
Still finishing some issues.. we'l let you know soon.
Stay safe,
Sandra

Thanks!

No, not by the beach, because it's a natural park. But just across the river, you have Cabanas de Tavira which has a lot of choices from camping, guest house, apartments, hotels, villas...
Name it...

Also, very good weather, no currents, sandy beach
As for wind: thermal cross-on-shore super steady wind normally from 11 to 18 knots (SW).
We are already getting some nice thermals since the beggining of this month, but the best time is from May on until September. From 15 July to end August there are around a lot of people bathing (out of the area of course) because it's the highest part of the season. Other than that the whole island is much like a kite beach alltogether
because there are very few people non kiting.

Hello MSG, normally we don't have waves... and when we do, we don't normally have enough wind to go kiting...
Summer we have a very nice thermal wind SW (side-on.shore).
You have some links to live wind report here:
