I have it from march, overall a great low wind kite
what i didn't like is tendency to turn too much to itself
i shortened the center bridle 3 cm and it's ok seems more stable, turn less tight and flies more forward
i think better low-end
still to test hi-end

Would longer lines not have done the same thing?

Why would it fly further forward?

A kite always goes forward in the window when you trim it or even let go of the bar a bit. It will fly more forward for sure but to a point. There is always a limit. Past that limit it might fall off the sky.

length of lines don't change the way a kite turn, tight or not
cloud has 4 points for bridles on the leading edge, i shortened only the center one
i think this has changed the arch of the kite

You mean you shortened the part that the inner or forward slider slides on?
The arc is flatter now?
Interesting, I was wondering if high end would increase if the arc was increased...

I made the same adjustment to my Cloud 17. I tied a knot on the lower cascade inside slider line (just inside the black sewn piece that keeps the plastic ball in place. I then moved to lower bridle line over this new knot. (About 4 cm difference) Kite flies further forward in window.

Visually, the canopy is flatter. In super light winds ( < 4mph)the kite has a tendency to overfly the zenith and sometimes Hindenburgs but since I can't actually ride at 4mph, this isn't an issue. In higher winds 5-10 mph the kite doesn't display the overfly zenith issue but definitely flies more vertical overhead. I really haven't noticed any changes in power, turning speed, or turn radius. The only thing that has changed is the kite flies a couple of degrees further forward in the wind window and allows better upwind angles. I think the kite might fly a little faster across the window but can't really measure the difference. The best part is the modification is easily reversed to compare before and after effects.

Love my Cloud 17 on light wind summer days.

but to me turning radius seems a little wider
