Has anyone been to Mauritius and Reunion in August. Can't find a lot of info on either place. Looks like it's good but what sized kites should I take??

Been a few times in August - been on 7 & 9 mainly with a few 12 days thrown in. Can't say how consistent that is or if I just lucked out. There is a guy on here Nico who lives out there - great source of information, not sure if he still posts here though?

Mauritius - There should be consistent trade winds at this time. Contact JC at Son of Kite. Aim for the South West near Le Morne, or the North, North East. Reunion -don't know but hear it is sharky with few lagoons available.

Yep I am still around, when I can find the time.
Mauritius is honking at that time, because its my birthday month : )
Jokes aside. This is when its happening on both islands.
Go to Reunion only if you are a hardcore waverider and never fall off your board (sharks).
Many reunion guys come over here for weekends or short spells because the variety of spots here will satisfy anyone.
C U on the lineup

I have been on "don't fall" breaks due to a shallow reef but never heard that claimed about sharks. are you serious about the sharks or just trying to keep more waves for yourself?

I have seen some hardcore waveriders (meaning pro riders) out at local breaks here. Without exception, they have been the ones falling off their boards the most, because they are always trying new tricks.

Yep, like the old motocross saying 'if you don't fall, you are not trying hard enough'.
No jokes though, reunion has a serious shark problem : (

Hello! One other rider had been eaten this week in La Reunion! So this is a serious problem!

That sounds pretty bad. Is there no flat water lagoon areas in Reunion? I'm not much into waves tbh.
