I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to provide me with some weights of a course board.

If you could:

1. List the board brand-model and size
2. Board weight with straps
3. Weight of each fin

I am trying to imput this info into a computer model to calculate the Center of Gravity relative to fin location. Thanks in advance!! :thumb:

Try www.temavento.it/index.php/rc-70 it has all the details about the 2013 temavento.. Most boards are 5.5kg.. Footstraps are pretty light maybe 30g each for light ones..

Have you looked at the IKA website
Some technical measurement for lots of boards in the registered board list ;)
Amazing how many are all quite similar

Great, both those sites helped!

Now i just need the fin weights. If someone could throw all three on a scale ill just divide by 3 and use that for my model.

From the info Ive found my best guess is that 3 fins weight 5 lbs.

Ive completed my model. My assumptions for fins seemed to work. The Center of Gravity is indicated my the red x in the photos.

So what do you do next
Hopefully you will be out racing on not on a computer, best test of all :D

On the 2013 north the center is about 10mm behind the front of the fins with g10
With carbon it moves to about level with the front of the fins, I only know this cause I wanted to find the best place for a handle on the board bag

If your model has a mass then it has to much bulk around the edges and most manufactures hollow out the front deck a bit

If i could kite I would. We are going through over a week of no wind :( I was planning on building one with a blank i have.

I will shave the rails and see what it does. All the components have the proper mass, each fin, box, and resin block around box are independent with appropriate masses for the CoG calc.
