I recently bought a used Core XR2 from Ebay. On pumping up the kite, it has Core Riot LW XR printed. How do you differentiate those two kites by the looks? How do I know that this is a newer XR2 and not the older XR? Any help appreciated.

Its the valve that has changed 3 times. Plus the looks. The Xr2 has a screw on inflate valve that uses the hose of the pump without an adapter. The 3 is a screw in valve with a metal pin on the inside.

Thanks Mactnka and Supa. It is an XR2.
Could you comment on the bar pressure on this kite? I come from Switchblades and hate the high bar pressure.

You will love, love, love the bar pressure...maybe. It is so light some folks don't like it. It will take a couple of sessions to get used to sensing the kite position.

The XR2 bar pressure is light but certainly not super light. You can easely adjust it to your taste with three level. If you hate bar pressure (just like me) you will want to adjust the knots on ultra light and i advise to configure the wing tip to super fast on a LW version (15/17/19m). I ride all my Core kites on super fast and ultra light for the bar pressure, it is a personnal choice. The XR2 have a bit less bar pressure then the XR3. The GTS3 have even less bar pressure then the XR2 but it is a different kite style....except for the new GTS3 LW version that is more similar to the XR3 but lighter, smoother in the turn but with less low end size for size. I loved the GTS3 LW 15m but the XR2/3 LW 15m will give better low end.
