I’m just asking as I want to be sure that I won’t go against any local law. In certain countries I saw posts/signs, stating clearly whether kitesurfing is allowed on that beach or not. Do you have something similar in Portugal ? Or these are inside information which can be found in similar forums only like this one….?
it´ actually a bit stupid, from Norh to South will be something like this
- Nova Vaga for swimmers, no kite
- Nova Vaga for kite surf school and some others - 50m
- Bela Vista for swimmers - 50m, no kite
- Bela Vista for kite - 300m

guess the captain just kept Nova Vaga for kite out of tradition, or something

not sure you´ll see any sign. we are not very good with those around here

think twice before asking for help south of Bela Vista

I agree with you, it's strange.....Regarding Bela Vista, I've just seen some nice pictures about the place on Facebook posted by Katavento school. But the picture posted by Capi gives me second thoughts ☺

Kitecamps there , but unsure of local schools.

great flatwaterspot on the inside for beginners.
thermal winds on warm days

good waves on the outside :-)

Hi and thanks Tolvsbo for the info! :)
This "Lagoa" seems also a good alternative! :thumb:
I checked a bit on google and saw that there is a kite school not far away from this Lagoa:
Escola Rui Meira Wind & Kitesurf (www.meiraprocenter.com)

I'll be in Lisbon for a couple days end of June. Are there schools (guincho or other spots) where i can rent gear. I am very experienced but won't be able to have any gear with me.

If considering the Algarve, check out Cabanas de Tavira, the Kiteschool on beach is Eolis

Excellent school and not crowded (any time I've been there) Thermal wind in the afternoon.
40 mins max from Faro, not built up area due to it being part of the Ria Formosa Nature Resreve
Get in touch with Sandra Santos.

Let me know if you need more info on spot, have been plenty of times.

Thx Tonyh for the info regarding Algarve but I´m afraid we won´t make it so far south as it´s only for a few days, a long weekend... But maybe for next time? :) Who knows? If this trip turns out good...
I think I found a nice spot and place to stay at Fonte da Telha where there is a kite school at 5 min walking distance! :D And I saw that there are a few others more up north ... So thanks to everyone for your replies and "input" ;) :thumb:

Hi.

Im from Lisbon and i started my lessons 2 weeks ago. Can some one from Portugal tell me if o can kite in Albufeira lagoon after 6, 7pm. More less 1h before sunset?

And one other spot to kite is in seixal in "Ponta do Mato" is in the river with nice view to Lisbon. The road are not the best, but is very nice when the wind came from NE
