I'll ask for Toby: "fog proof?"

If it fogs then its not sealed, and cant be waterproof.

Both my Garmin Virbs are waterproof without a case and have never had any fogging issues in the year and a half ive had them. I would expect the gopro is the same.

I was excited when this showed up in my email today. However this wired review makes it sound functional but lackluster

Wow that is a fantastic review and really points out the advantages (size) and disadvantages (everything else) for the same price as the H4 silver. Guess I will wait for session 4...

Yes i saw the wired review too. Most reviews I read complained of the lack of 4k and the price point. However the real features are the fact its small, waterproof and if the 1080p at 60 is better than the competition it could be a winner. Also, this is exciting news that the Hero 5 could be waterproof as well without a case, which is the pain issue we have as kiters.

I have been playing with the Virb Elite and Hero 4 Black and I can tell you that on 1080p, the hero blows away the virb. I have been filming the copper smelting process, and the virb cannot handle the brightness of light from the molten metal, however the sensor on the black shows the detail well. I have not been able to test the lastest Virb XE to see how that video compares to the hero, but I would be interested to see how the Session 1080p quality compares to the black or XE. Here are two photos of the same smelting operation from the Virb Elite and Hero 4 Black.

I originally bought the virbs because they were waterproof without a case, which ive had no issue with, and they had gps tracking. But after this comparison I will be purchasing a new camera based on image quality.

That wired review is a good read. If my goal was to simply shoot short kiting clips for YouTube / Facebook, the Session would be more than sufficient wouldn't it ?

Yeah, but why bother? Is being a bit smaller worth sacrificing EVERYTHING else over the Hero 4?

yes, I think it won't fog anymore!!!

And, it is very light...so it can be mounted on the board and won't change position when landing harder...didn't use it anymore because of that.

Plus, I think it can be put onto one line easily? It looks light, so it won't be really in the way when on one line.

Very interesting!

I got mine to not flop around on landings....until the bracket snapped off. Good thing I leashed it through a fin hole.
