My wetsuits seem to last years while my harnesses only last 1-2. Go figure.

Third for the Mystic warrior. Mines a waist/seat.
It's the only harness I've owned since starting to landboard, then kitesurf. Had it 11 yrs now.
Very little sign of wear, all the straps and stitching are very good still.
Does that put me in the lead?

I bought second hand Mystic Warrior more than 3 years ago, it is still like new.
OK - it is a little bit washed-out but I don't care

Have no experience kitesurfing yet, been looking through threads, youtube videos, and other forums.. I've got a dakine seat harness. Hoping it lasts many sessions. I sail and surf quite a bit. Still sail competitively but gave up surfing competitions. Once winter break starts I'm heading out with a few friends.
I used to surf at least twice a day for years, and can tell you that care for wetsuits is incredibly important. Rinsing in fresh water is essential. Salt crystals tear the material fast over time. Drying or leaving in the sun ruins the seals within weeks. Drying with no airflow means a smelly wetsuit. I assume the same happens with all kite gear. Once the wetsuit smells, because it will after time, cheap baby shampoo works wonders.
I could make the same wetsuit last a month or a year with heavy use.

Might be, plummet. I also think Dakine quality isn't the best... I've got a Mystic that still looks new, even after a year of on/off use and bouncing around the back of my car. My Fusion had fluffy straps In about a month, and the leg strap has pulled through the soft material where it's anchored...

Thanks guys, I have been through two of the same model of harness in a year. Same issue with both the 2014 and 15 versions. If the manufacturer refuses to warranty, I'll be more than happy to let you know who built it.

Tried Dakine followed by ION and now my two harnesses are the Mystic Majestic for surf and twin tip, and the Mystic Aviator seat harness for foiling.

Still rockin' my original OR Session from 5 or so years ago. It's looking a bit faded and worn, but still solid. Unless you're some super kiter a harness should last at least 7-10 years. Any less is just inferior materials and/or workmanship.
