Any place to buy a sand anchor that's safe?

I once chased done a runaway 14m kite dragging one if those small sand screws through a lagoon, which had already snagged anther kite on the way...
Better to use the big ones made for anchoring buildings, 2 feet long a with a bigger diameter screw blade, or choose another option. Only takes a couple more minutes to screw in the bigger anchor.
Also, know the location for your anchor setting your kite up where you want it and pacing it off or laying out your lines, etc.
And if you had a waterproof bag, you could avoid digging by filling it with water.

The problem with these threads is that it all depends if you're going to be flying a foil or inflatable.

Spiral dog stakes are suitable for foils with the occasional pull out(in sand) and never suitable for use with inflatables.

I use a beach umbrella anchor as a last resort anchor. Because the kite is depowered it doesnt actually pull that hard.

check amazon and get one with as much spiral as you can find vs just a single spiral or just a few spirals at the end. They are made of plastic and are wide.

They cost about 10-$20

This one is pricey

I picked up a PKS sand anchor that I've been happy with. It's basically a little triangular tarp your bury in the sand. There's a bit of a technique to using it right (you don't just pile sand on it), but they have a video that explains it and it's not complicated.

The main benefit I see to this kind of anchor is that it can't become a sharp metal projectile in the worst case. I figure when everything goes well both types of anchors work similarly, but when things go wrong this style of sand anchor is much safer.

I don't have much experience here though, just figured I'd mention another option.

I can put 300 pounds of sand in my bag in 2 minutes and it was $30 all in. I really like the idea that if the pull is too large the bag just slowly drags instead of losing your kite after a failure to hold. I believe the filled bag is the way to go
