I think we all agree that people with incredibly bad coordination, that cannot even push a button without pulling on the bar shouldn't be allowed to handle a kite.

Probably the kind of person that accidentally steers their kite when reaching down for their board.

45 secs in from the instructional video. As you can see the guy is holding the end of the bar to depower the kite. In an overpowered situation where the kiter has lost control of the bar and goes to grab the depower with one hand in this exact situation as the guy in the video is demonstrating that hold would initial a kite loop.

next time it's 7m weather take a 9 or 10 out (we've all done it) launch it fully powered, let go of the bar, then with one hand grab the end like in the video & see what happens.

Why so negative? This is a game changer and only for experienced kiters. If you are overpowered it's your fault in the first place, you should have rigged a smaller kite, or be watching because you are inexperienced. Game changers take some toll, so if a noob initiates an unwanted kite loop, he's paying his game changer dues TM, and he's learning something - North should even charge him for this extra bit of instruction. Experienced kiters do kite loops all the time, so they will hardly be gotten by surprise when they unintendedly initiate a kite loop.

What do you think, is that convincing? I just watched an online marketing tutorial and wanted to see if I've learned something

To be fair when I learnt in 03 the whole process was at times terrifying. I'm glad to see North bringing some of that fear back to noobs and maybe at the same time reducing the amount of people at my local spot.

I think I'll stick with my current system, it works, it's simple, parts are easy replaceable and with the saving I make on buying a 2015 version I can go away kiting with the difference on what this costs.

so you do not NEED to do that underhand grab on the bar, you just push the button...Pushing a button can be done in many different ways...

mate you're correct always more than one way to skin a cat. You're more likely to grab the end of the bar palm down than the way he is.

Why would your bar be at the outer reaches of the throw when you're trying to power it up? The button depowers, the twist powers up.

When "reaching", not "at".
