Google round for 3d printed ones, you can buy them all over the place.

does anyone have experience with anything smaller than the camrig? most people that use line mounts seem to be using that one, but seems like a huge overkil and super bulky for the session.

The biggest problem I see with the camrig line mount is that the lines can't slide anymore. Take my bar, the Core Sensor 2. The QR system works with a pulley placed at the beginning of the (high) front line V. The moment you hit the QR, one of the 2 front lines slides and becomes twice the length of the other one, flagging the kite on one line. With the line mount, lines are fixed by the rubber stoppers and can't slide anymore, making the QR totally useless.

I didn't realize that. That is another huge reason to look for something other than camrig. the hero 5 session is small and light and now requiring no housing that a much smaller/simpler (perhpas a single line) mount should work. anyone knows of anything like that? do we know when camrig will release something session specific? thx.

In the camrig instructions it says you do not have to use all the rubber pieces to attach it so safety systems still work. Camrig works great and worth every penny.

This is not true. They are not fixed. If the pull of the kite is strong enough, it will pull the safety through the rubbers just fine. I've tried several times. If you worry about that, then you can use only one or no rubbers on the flag out line.

But yes, in general QR does not work as reliable as w/o the mount anymore.

I confirm that line will slide fine through the rubber. When you set them up it's not always balanced and as soon as you launch kite there is enough tension to make line tight and they slide just fine.
On kiteboarding.com tutorial video they actually advise to put rubber thingy only on one side and flag line free on other side, I tried once and it was just fine. Though I often self launch in cold season and usually put all rubber so lines stay in place while dragging mount on sand...

I'm keen to try the new(ish) beastmount.

The camrig is such a pain in the ass to put on with all the rubber things, the beastmount just has one piece that clips in and you're ready to go. Haven't seen one in person though.

this one was built in about 20 min and costs under $3
it's not for the session.. but it should give you the idea on what to do..
