I’ve never owned one, 16 was my biggest back maybe 2006 ish. Then down to 13, then 12 then was a 10m purist for a good 6 years. Have had a 12 the last few years but it gets about half the use my 8m sees.

Mostly just pulling your string. Not really that emotionally invested in what others choose.

You obviously need a big kite. I might feel differently if I lived where you do.

Discussion was why do people want fast kites? You yourself want as fast a big kite as possible to complement your impeccably honed skill set 😉

I guess I just prefer a fast kite to make up for my meagre talents.
Wow nice sensible post !!...and resume !!
You are killing me !!

Really good....approved !!

Guys, ignore the jumpingjack ... err shark... champion. His mommy turned off cable, so he‘s replaying his faves on social media.

Seriously, he only stirs trouble & contention, zero contribution... he‘s done a lot of damage to the forum over the years, but if you engage him you are guilty too. I admit, I‘ve fallen in the trap too, but no more...

I and many others have tried to be nice to him, but he is just rabid & full of hate... sometimes ignoring them really is the only option... he’s been very nasty to many ppl who’ve had sound advice; many left the forum bc of him; he is pure poison... PullStrings is handling him well; wish more would grow the balls to do the same, but if you can’t, just ignore him, that’s my advice. Take it or leave it

Jees.. some bickering going on above. Just ignore them.

Anyway. Fired up the 4m yesterday 20-30 knots on the hydrofoil. It was a fun session. Some furious kite flying went down! Challenging in the washing machine slop. But fun nonetheless.

The drexler videos are always good to showcase fast kite flying.

Amazing skills. Effing amazing really. How about a cartwheel on the board? Next trick.
.
But he will have to take up knitting or something else similar to escape from the doom of perfection.

Are you saying this talented man has 15000+ hours?

May I also remind you this is a kite forum and not a ram obsessors forum.

Let me make this perfectly clear:
Starsky, now Jumpingshark, is a low class bully whose posts revolve around character assassination & gratuitous self-aggrandizement. He imagines himself the absolute authority on kiteboarding & all dissenting opinions are immediately subjected to a hit job, not the opinions, but the characters of those voicing them. He’ll even steal your insights while discrediting you with a personal attack & take credit for what you said while attacking you as a person.

He’been busting Toby’s balls for years & I have no idea why he keeps tolerating him. Stockholm syndrome! It’s bad leadership if you can’t protect the community from sociopaths. People get things wrong all the time. That’s perfectly OK. It’s what drives a forum. And we get in each others’ hairs with opinions, but a civilized person NEVER stoops down to character assassination. That’s really bad manners. I don’t need a blockhead from the Canadian woodwork telling me I’m subhuman every time I say anything about kiting bc apparently he is the only authority. Fair critique & a civilized discussion is one thing, a hit job on someone’s character quite another. It’s ugly & it’s all he does.

He’s made this forum very toxic. Ppl have few choices: either leave, which most decent people do, keep fighting him, which is exhausting, or become like the bully themselves & compromise their character. Most ppl just accept it as normal bc they don’t know any better, but this isn’t normal.

As long as he is around I can’t be part of this. It’s unhealthy.

DM me when he’s gone.

Until then, rip hard, it’s been fun. Some of you are real treasures. 🤙😘😘😘
