Please make it more accurate, respectful to the families of those that died, they are not just statistics for your fucking game with the IKA, the big it’s not sailing thing? Get rid. It’s not bloody flying either!

No data for 2017? No one was killed injured prior to 2008?

This is a difficult subject cause we are a close community and many kiters will know one or some of the people on this list.

On the other hand, if the objective is to help raise awareness and improve education and safety then I think it's a good idea.

Other government run sites like motor vehicle accidents and deaths are more masked, meaning there are no subjective posts with possible personal data included. You might want to consider stripping back a bit of the content or paraphrasing so not too get too controversial.

Cheers

It's open source, and an effort of many people. It's editable by anyone. Click the cell you believe is inaccurate and add why as a cell comment. Everything should be referenced with a link where possible. Pretty much everything is referenced.

I can see 2017. Please try refreshing your browser?

Prior to 2008 go for it - but this was when there was a big shift to reasonable quick releases and more depowerable kites.

Having a high level of skill and experience with regards to the sport of kiteboarding, not sailing, is a prerequisite for being able to effectively risk manage kiteboarding events. Without that, huge liability. Look after youth kiteboarders especially.

In case you missed it, it also has fundraiser links and articles about kiteboarders saving swimmers.

Learn about real risks, look for patterns, educate.

Sobering. I commend your efforts. Some surprisingly unconstructive criticism seen here, given that the goal is to promote awareness and save lives.

No it’s not enjoying seeing you leverage kiters deaths in your little crusade against the IKA.

Including Ruben in there? Why? His cancer was nothing to do with an accident database.

The kiter killed by a shark? Wtf

I feel pretty strongly on this after Safety Rick phoned me two days after a fatal accident In the UK wanting to put it all over the Internet with no reguard for the facts.

Linking to forum speculation about each of the accidents as you have is particularly insensitive and potentially misdleading.

If you had linked to legal records post investigation that actually clarified precisely what happened without the gossip that you get on this forum I would have rather more time for you and this database.
