Tulum?

Postby vannibombonato » Sat Jan 12, 2019 12:39 pm

Hi there,
Looking to spend a week in March somewhere around Caribbean, Mexico etc.

I am looking at union island, but non kiting wife would probably be happier in tulum. Anybody has been there for kiting? How is it?

Thanks,

Vanni

Should be good in March.
I usually stay in playa mujeres (mainly all inclusive hotels) which is north of Cancun next to island Blanca.
I think the wind there is better than the south.
Last year I had great wind April.

We where in Tulum last January .

The place has a very nice vibe for non Kiting partners.

The wind was cross on from the left.

Where we where there was quite a shore dump but once past that it was really nice .

I was Foiling and had a great time and even saw a couple of turtles out back which was awesome .

I'm working for a kiteschool in Holbox island close to Tulum it's actually not far at all from Cancun 3 hours by bus and a short ferry , it's a perfect island for your wife with plenty to do in the evenings and a really lay back vibe all the time. Spot is super super flat water always and wind is good not so strong but very constant usually use 12m kites unless the Northerly wind comes in and then we get the 9 and 7ms out .

Have a look into it might be perfect for you

Hello vanni!

Wind should be good in Tulum around March id main season over the yucatan península .
The more north you go more wind you are going to have.
If you can move around try Progreso 4 hrs from Tulum and the capital city Merida is just awesoooome.
