I have had no problems with it sticking. Connection of flagging line to flying line needs to be loop to loop and smooth. With 4mm line you have lots of extra strength, 4mm is for abrasion resistance. You can unpick a few more strands in the looop part of the 4mm to make the connection smoother.

However you do it, make sure it works, doesnt release accidentally etc.
Test frequently! Your safety is in your own hands.

I would like my bar to be simple, but I don't want to miss out on the depower/trimming system. So I figured I use a cobra clam cleat.

This clam only needs one line to go through the bar for the trimming and one for the safety. Did anybody use a cobra clam cleat and can suggest if it works?

Here is a link that explains how it works: https://www.clamcleat.com/products/clea ... cleat.html
I found out there is the Aero cleat (CL82611AN) which does pretty much the same except it works on one line instead of
two. I am kind of leaning towards that.

Is there anything I should take into account?

Or this one: https://www.clamcleat.com/aero-cleat-wi ... rlead.html

Another hint, by the way, I made a grip coating by applying a "stear sheet" (we used when building custom windsurf board years ago!) not experienced yet but I think it is agood balance not to agressive for the skin and the grip is fine
Application was not perfect on the edges but that was first trial. you mask the portion you do not want it with tape I applied only at the "front side" where fingers are holding the bar

For the quick releaze no need to stick absolutely on ball shape, I used a piece of platic tube from home water supply, this is perfect - 4cm long is fine - did same for the QR of the safety line on the harness side with a smaller tube (the ring it is attached to offers untwisting feature). All is very compact and works perfectly - they work in opposite modes so no big risk to make misoperation. I found that is good to operate them each time you go on the water, so I beleive it becomes a natural reflex the day I need to activate it in an emergency condition.

That looks good, does the white ring part have a name or is it some part I could get at a local sailing store when i describe it?

Also I like your idea of getting a grip on the bar! I may try it.

Thanks for sharing!

The ring part should be called "friction" ring (from French translation) this is commonly ued in Sail boating you might find that indeed at a local sailing store, but in that small size I guess it coud be found also from paragliding parts. Mines came from spare parts of an old foil kite I had in the year 2000 ! - just an example found with google :

Good luck

It appears that you used a stainless steel eye bolt and bent it? Is that correct? Are you concerned about the threads catching/binding, preventing release?

@ap888 How did you make your hole? Did you used the PU tube for the hole? If so how long was your PU tube? how did you glue it? Thanks.
