Custom Airstyle Bar: North / Wainman / Kiteleinen.com

Hi guys,

I needed a single flag out bar with microloop/hook (for Naish Drafts)
Last year I combined a North 2012 4-Line with a Naish BTB Universal 2013 - both 24 meters and surprise - it fit perfectly!

So I decided to rebuild 2 more of my bars and this time bought the spares I needed.

It is actually really simple!

You need:

- A North Bar 2009-2012 24m (Best is 2011 - grip) get one used on ebay etc. for 150-200 Euros
- Microloop set (Airstyle.tv)
- Wainmain Swivel (39 Euros at rabbitgang.de)
- 2x 23,8m long lines with spliced end on one and normal slings on the other side
- 1x sling 3cm (to fix one of the two front lines under the hole of the swivel)
- 1x Safety line with one spliced sling (you can also use the one from the existing North bar and cut it, this one you fix with a larks head between the small hole of the swivel on top and the large hole in the middle)
- 1 metal ring approx 1cm (put it on the chicken loop, to let the safety run beside the chicken loop, just like Naish)

Costs are 63 Euros for the lines and 39 Euros for the swivel.
I ordered all the lines from Peter Goldbach Boardway/Kiteleinen.com who is amazingly helpful and fast!

I reused the North power line/stopper/clam/Ironheart and just added the new parts.
Then I trimmed all the line lengthes and tested the bar - Job done!

For the Naish Drafts I also added a LWR (Light Wind Relaunch) Line, makes my life easier and the kite can also be flown by beginners.

But, North Bar 2009-2012. 2013 does NOT have the microloop holes.

Just changed it.

2012 is OK - but the grip is not the best, you need to keep glueing it back with superglue - not very practical
2011 is Very Good, grip is much better
2010 - don't know about that one

Lets hope, North adds the microloop again in 2016 Bar or Flysurfer in the 2016 Airstyle Bar.
