yes i used a sled jig. to make the profile.
i printed the wing profile i wanted on paper.
epps 836 for the keel.
Naca 0012 for the wing
glued and i cutted the pattern with a bandsaw.
and did a copy on the router.
bolted them together with a rod to make proper distace for the router.
adjusted the profile with sander an adjusted depth to get the desired chord.
voila instant wings and reproduceble.
i will post a picture of the gig.
thanks for the comment! :thumb:
What about routering from the centre to the wing tip on the wings?
It might be a simpler setup since you would be routering in a straight line?

Guys thanks for the comments!
Mental processing is what takes most time!!
after the gig is cutted and corrected is easy piezzy!
The idea is to créate a gig and try several diffent wing áreas with same profile.
you can taper the wings with this gig to make a thinner tip and thicker midlle wing section but i will try later.
im a blueberry grower in chile so my time is limited on the momento.
its picking season!

Good Work!

I suspect the stabilizer wings might be a bit long and disturb flow over the main wing. I suspect a longer fuselage with smaller stabilizer wings would be better. But you will know before me. :)

Awsome.
congrats to all.

windfreak: just lovely
Hawaiis: your wood config for strut and fuselage seems to be undergoing another mod.
what's up?
Don: I hope the AL strut works for you. But only if its easy and cheap enough that you wont mind moving on to mod # 3, if necessary.

carry on kids.

Windfreak74:
Nice Work

Bill:
I made this one especially for the twintip bidirectional, since the foil shape is different.

Why would one want to make a TT hydrofoil ?

Will always be so inferior, compared - and foils are not a beginner board anyways...

Just like planes without a tail, can easily be done by using swept wings with washout, and/or airfoils with negative camber at the trailing edge (they are self stable then, and still lifting better than a symmetrical foil which is the worst of all)

These planes are fun, and interesting simply because it is possible - but they all fly like junk, compared to a tail/rudder plane, no matter what (I've flown a lot of them...)

The same goes for a TT, whether that is as a standard board or a hydrofoilboard IMO.

Directionals can offer so much more in every aspect, and only lacks some in freestyling (which is not the topic for hydrofoils, or is it the target ?)

Just wondering...

I like the idea of "just being able to do it", so full respect for making it happen :D

But in terms of anything useable or just slightly performing, I dont see any point in a TT hydrofoil :(

Peter:
If you are sitting by the beach waiting for the wind to pick up and I offer you a $300 piece of foil that you can mount it to the twin tip and takes only 10 minutes to master, you will be going up wind like crazy. Would you buy it?
This might get more people to enjoy the light wind day. They will have the option to remove the foil when the wind picks up. Not to mention that they will not need a larger kite.

That --don Dude-- likes me about as much as dog-dodo , so i don't want to
make it sound like i'm trying to back the Bitch up ; his EGO is way bigger
than his creativity OR his workmanship ...

BUT Seriously Peter
how sad would the world be if Everyone :
* Thought the same
** Liked the same things
*** Invented the same stuff
**** And was afraid to Try something New ?

Peter , the World would be technologically advanced , as it
was back in the 7th century ; man would be stagnated !!

The sum total of man's knowledge is doubling about every
2 years ; some of that knowledge was built upon by failures, and
some of it comes from looking at things from a Different prospective
than other humans see things.

Example being, i can fly my EPP motor-Zaggy, into the side of a
brick-wall at near 60mph and change the prop & Velcro the battery
back in, and it's ready to do it again ; your efficient RC with it's Cool
body tail and wings is going to Explode upon impact ,
((even if it was made from the Same materials as the zaggy)) !!
