Too much front foot pressure needed, so probably the mast should be attached to the board more rearwards (assuming the angle/profile/area of the stabilizer and/or main wing don't actually need to be redesigned to provide less negative and positive lift, respectively?)

Best Tutorials made! I just had my second day on a home made foil and I have been studying these videos over and over. Here's a run down on my progress.
Day 1 (Wednesday): Tried to go strapless. Total failure. Could not even stand up or go more than a foot forward. Would fall immediately. Just could not time the start before the foil would start sinking again. It was so frustrating. It all seemed so cumbersome. Then I ended up getting washed by a wave and couldn't even find my board for a while.
Day 2 (today): straps on. Super loose. I was able to water start WAY easier because the foil wouldn't just sink while I was getting all ready. (Side note: I ride almost exclusively strapless wave ridding and strapless skim boards - occasional twin tip) Was getting foiling rides lasting 5-10 seconds on the foil!
Just kept the speeds way under control and kept pretty much trying to NOT raise up. That seemed the key to success today. Don't even try to foil because it will anyway.
