Thank you, Sergio for wings details.
I am to try Spotz Tuna wing yet. Will post results.
I’m beginer to monofoiling. Just started 2 weeks ago.
My speeds are much lower. I try to move my front foot back at higher speeds and it helps, but only a little. Should moove back my rear foot rather? Next time.
An advice to newbies: get enough speed and lift gently. Kangarooing is a sign of to low speed.

Yesterday tried front XXL wing. A bit higher speed was needed and it become quite comfortable. Also max speed was higher making comfort speed bandwidth wider.
So, tried carver once again. Success. I liked this wing the most. Widest speed bandwidth.
So tried Zeeko carbon race wing.
Succes. Rideble.
Tried Zeeko speed wing. Failure.
Tried older wing from another french foil brand. Failure.
First thoughts are below:
- more wing surface helps
- careful hydrodynamic design to avoid waterflow instabilities is a must
- all above foils were not designed for monofoilig - there is more room for comfort for sure, especially to widen comfort speed bandwidth.
Thanks for trying the front wing and giving feedback! :thumb:

It's all guesswork on my part on the canard design, because it hasn't been explained how it works, so I'm guessing that the front and rear wings exchange % of the total lift at different angles of attack to keep the centre of lift at the same place. That means the front wing would lose lift in a controlled way above the AOA for it's maximum lift, while the rear wing was still on it's way up to it's maximum lift AOA.
That might mean that the maximum lift is lower for the front wing (plus it is smaller), but you could go both higher and lower in AOA from the maximum lift and the change in lift would be smooth - ie. it wouldn't drop off a cliff at higher AOA.
I don't know if it has any benefit for monofoiling (other than being less prone to stall).

I'm waiting for the windfoil Zeeko Spitfire to appear and expect then to buy one, so it's interesting to hear some testing of the wings.

Your nice nemo board looks a bit as if front foot stands on a lower or at least not higher level as backfoot, this can cause you problems at higher speeds, check my posts at page 10. You may use shims to avoid to have a to much angled back leg at higher speeds.

Yes, good point: Always try to not take of before having overtaken the Kangoros Speed, otherwise the Kangoro will consume a lot of force. That's why slow wings and big boards for first tries are much much easier. Think spots tuna will be too hard at the moment. I let a guy, who very succesfuly tested my Element-Mono before, try the Aspect-Mono and he was not able to get it into flight.

But started to really love the Aspect-Mono, even if its speed range is not wider, it is higher and even if it is still not a boosting tool as a normal stabi-freerace. It is now fast enough to boost pretty well with it, had several nice boardoffs with long time to get back in both straps and prepare for landing.

And every last sessions I tried and documented my top speeds have been around or over 40 km/h. So now Monofoiling is still not fast, but it is no more just slow. And it is possible to hold about well 30 km/h for boosting and I was also able to ride not just with a higher upwind VMG than most foilers, but with a similar downwind VMG as experienced friends with fast freeride setups.
No-more-slow-monofoil.jpg
Never expected to ever become that fast and now no more no need to go even faster. All wipe outs are still very compfortabel and save, uncomparable with the danger of 50 km/h+ on a normal foil.

Another good point for me: I don't need to run for 3 or 4 hours to have fun, but 2 hour is mostly enough to be physically and mentally completely exhausted. You don't feel it during riding, but your body is trained on a much higher level than on a stabifoil.

Have seen the other topic and will post there when I got more time as well as two new videos about sit foiling and mono-boosting :D

Checking the videos I got to say this time "boosting"maybe have been too big words, as I think still under 10 m, but lets say, with just one wing the mono deserves a cripple bonus :D

Some eye candy, before I got the time to cut a video: Monofoil "boosting" with an 11 m² in about 11 knts

Happy Birthday!

You are most definitely in the vanguard of foiling. Super impressive kick spin.

Sergio is a pioneer and may be onto something I still can't really wrap my head around from back in the peloton. I mean I get how it can work, and I can see the upgrade in agility (which should be super attractive to me) but I must be slow or complacent or something. You ride in swell and in the same vein that I generally pursue. Are there any draw backs to riding swell? Any down sides in general to losing the pitch stability, or is it simply one more thing to get comfy with? Please share your thoughts on the concept.

PS. Looks like you have crafted a real skill incubator of a lifestyle for yourself. Props.

and very very nice again, biggest respect. :thumb:

What I said, prices for stabis are going to fall, when people start to eat from the monofruit :D

I think after my excursion to "boosting" I got to also try once again strabless without expecting to reach your level.

Have you already said what wing you are using? Biggest ketos with 1200 mm² ?

Oh and if you want: try to drift when wing is close to the surface, maybe with one hand to the rail as with skateborad, done it few times, but maybe not the best wing for it, but seen its potential.

Yep, it`s the 1200 Ketos wing.
Not sure how to describe stabless other then it feel better / smoother / more free.
And trying to go back to using stab (ketos xs), feel not good / slow / drag
Here`s another vid, from today, using the ironing board.
Cheers.

Have you tried mono with the Ketos wave xl wing (800)?
You make this look to simple... :thumb:

Oyvind, Does Ketos sell this "fuselage online? Does Moses have something similar?
