I have to try this with my foiling girlfriend. Are you hooking to the rear handle pass strap? Possible to go without dual footstraps?

Yes, and yes. I use the extra straps because we jump and do rotations.

My GF has never kited, but she loves the tandem foiling.

Yes you don't need the extra footstraps if well harnessed?

I take off and ride without her in the straps occasionally, but I wouldn't feel comfortable jumping without her in them.

- if I am under-powered I try to go fast and the foil starts "boiling", becomes unstable and ejects me when I send the kite.. I tried 3 sets of wings, sanding wings/mast, etc but it's still there.. maybe it's my technique?
it looks like your technique issue and if whisper wings are shape of the Moses ones than i would say it is your technique.
I've probably used all Moses wings for jumping and have never noticed such issue.
- if I am overpowered I can do ~12meters on 12m xr5 but I get tired after a few tacks as my waist harness keeps riding up since I ride with kite at 12 most of the time..
Why not to try a seat harness?
One more thing: stronger wind then kite lower. Keeping at 1200 is pointless and might be dangerous.
The most safest place for a kite in the strongest overpowering gusts is 2-5m above water. NOT IN THE ZENITH.
There is not too much pleasure to foil with a kite @ 1200 anyway.
Have you (or anyone, doing big air) measured the take off speed?
For me, the ghost whisper starts to misbehave once I hit 27-28mph (if GOPRO to be trusted for GPS readings).
It runs stable and super quiet below that speed...

define misbehave? Do you mean cavitating?
