Thickness should be enough to be stiff and hold the hardware, probably 8-9mm.
And/or skinned with a few carbon layers to make sure it’s stiff enough.

You guys have been supper helpful. Leaning towards aluminum adapter plate because it is cheaper than G10.
Or drilling holes in the foil base? IS this stupid. Anybody know tricks for drilling in carbon fiber? or take to machine shop?

I have a Newind split Chiodi I drilled my carbon mast base with regular cordless drill no issues foil and board still going strong. The hardest thing for me is getting hole plugs to stay in when used in surfboard mode.

align the mast on the board use a pencil to mark the center of the holes on your base. make small pilot holes at center then use larger bit carbon take a while. so go slow and. steady carbon dust is nasty so do it outside use a brush to clean area. when bit tip gets to the other side stop then drill out the other side to avoid splintering.

Thanks. Did you use any coolant? water? I assume no. Like you said go slow. Like the tip about coming in from both sides.

Next question is how does the geometry of the foil to board work. I have only flown the hoverglide foil. I have heard the GW will require a different position of feet. I think I will foil the GW on the hoverglide board to see where its happy spot is on the track. Make sense? or am I overthinking it?
I don't use footstraps. I do use a hook only so I can get up. So that should help that I can move my feet

no water or coolent used just use a good bit. you should be fine with foil position as is you might need to shift your rear foot back especially coming from hover glide which has much more lift and front foot pressure. see photo below I'm using 2 foot hooks.

thanks bro. love the photo. I was worried about my Newind being to nice to jump, but I might rethink that...

don't worry my Newind has travelled all over and been ridden hard with only minor issues that I was able to fix myself. it's a rare board that's fun as a surfboard and foil board. I mainly ride it as a surfboard these days and it's fun and strong for strapless jumping and has decent flex for wave riding

Could this work? I can't tell the full bolt dimensions by looking at your pick.

Da
Good find. I did not see that on Moses site, but it looks like it would not work. Hard to tell. But looks like it is for Track to smaller foil. My GW has the large base and the board has the small bolt pattern.
I am pretty comfortable drilling base as long as I take it slow.
Thanks all for help
