I really like it for kiting in waves too Infact my Moses Onda wings 633 683 and 873 have been staying in the truck since I got this foil. This is a pure surf foil it really catches waves stays in the pocket maintains lift in turns and turns really well and pumps great.
What is your weight?

I have high hopes for the L for me kiting even though I'm only 75 kg (165 lbs) because I only foil in light winds and don't like to go fast and just spend my time trying to surf the small bumps.

Also have you tried it with the washer on either screw?

I feel like for kiting and dock pumping the 70 cm mast will be much better. For kiting it really depends how bad the wing cavitates when you breach a tip though. My previous foil dropped like a rock with the slightest cavitation.

I dont think you'll have a problem as long as you don't ride too overpowered. I'm 185lb the foil recovers well from cavitation its a very big wing 1605sq cm so you have a lot of lifting surface unless you breach the entire wing . I just got the 80cm mast but have already kited shoulder high swell with the standard 60 mast (which actually measures 70)

I messed around with shims a bit they do make a big difference but like the stock setup and go back and forth between the small stab and large stab

I'm about 73kg & have been kiting & prone surfing the L & M with S stab & stock 65cm mast.
The L has quite a bit more lift & glide but the M is faster & harder to breach.

I think for just kiting in really light wind, the M is all you need + about a 90cm mast.

I use the Small for light winds and love it. I've also used it for tandem.

Great for small waves. I've had it out in larger waves and haven't had a problem other than it makes a noise when it hits 'high speed" on the smooth face. It's only happened a few times. The best thing about this foil is that it always foils--very slow, turns, white water, weeds, going over breaking waves--it never comes off foil. Crazy really. However, I did find that I had gotten lazy when I went back to my normal, small wing.

that's great to hear about the small wing . Agree this foil is amazing with weeds and whitewater nothing seems to bother it too much. The large front wing with large stabilizer is incredibly stable you can switch your feet at any time without relying on kite power or position. not sure how they did it but this foil doesn't require heavy front foot pressure it is really well balanced for the amoubt of lift.

I have the medium wing on order but so far really surprised how well the large size handles in 25knots + winds and decent sized swell (I prefer to fly small kites )

How do you waterstart when foiling tandem please, I'd love to take my daughter for a spin.

I attach her to my harness with a waist harness and snap shackles. Once attached, we do a normal water start. It's important that she bends her knees to get going. In light winds, I also need to loop the kite. Together with wet gear, we weigh well over 300 lbs. But the foil doesn't care. 😎

Do you attach her to you via two points one on either side or a single point in the middle?

So far, I have been very happy with my NP Gide foil - only problem is that I cannot find any foil covers.
Has anyone found some that fit the L & M wings ?
