Agree a bit. That is why I was going to try the ION 1/3 Golf Bag. I did a quick search on Delta and SW. Delta will allow boogie board under 43", over that it is over sized. SW Boogie boards are free. Both allow golf club bags. Most of the Boogie boards I see are over 45"
Either way depends on how it gets played. I got busted on Delta once and paid a lot because it was over sized and over the 50. That is why I fly SW. I just went to Los Barriles and took my ION 2/3 and it is big and SW took it with no fee cause it was under 50lb.
So I was figuring if I got the smaller Ion 1/3 it would not be a issue, unless they check and say it is not for golf.

For big trips I use the Epic bag and you can bring everything, including fishing gear which I usually bring. It's too big however. Last year I started using hockey bags because my board choice is smaller these days. I did not get charged for the hockey bag but that's not guarantee. I also bought a hockey goalie bag as it will easily carry my Groove board. The other hockey bag is 37" so it's only for really small pocket boards. Both have no issue carrying my 1 piece Lift wings. You can get rollers but I don't want them as they just add weight.

I picked up an inflatable SUP bag. Something close to 90cm I think. Can be worth a look.

I have the 44" and it handles the Groove skate, Mast and several one piece wings, kites, etc.

For smaller boards I use this
https://www.icewarehouse.com/Bauer_650_ ... B6CBL.html
I did not get charged for the smaller bag in several flights. Putting a pocket board in a much larger bag creates a sag in the bag and makes transport somewhat challenging. As you will see these bags are cheap and durable. You need to add an inch or 2 to the length of your board to comfortably accommodate it. They are built with tons of depth. Even if you get charged they are much easier to transport.

I use this
https://www.ospreyeurope.com/shop/eu_en ... r-120-2018 - it can fit Kanaha shapes board, Moses onda (91 cm mast), wetsuit, harness, bar and 2 kites, it has 20kg.
I took me some time to find out how to fit all in there, had to heat the plastic bottom of the bag to stretch it 1-2 cm so the board fits there better. I've flown 3 times with it, only once it was considered oversized, but I didn't have to pay anything extra as the bag was within the size allowance.

Good for you Tom. As a life long hockey player I can tell you they're super tough too. Hockey gear is always wet, smelly, sharp skate blades and they come in out of your car very roughly and always up and down cement stairs. They last for years. Any Lift wing users take note, it's one of the only bags that makes transport of the 1 piece wing easy.
