Ozone access - little difference between 8 and 10?

Postby qwertyjjj » Sat Sep 08, 2018 9:30 am

If you look at the ozone access specs, they don't say there's much difference in win wind range between the 8 and the 10...at least not compared to the difference when you step up from 4 to 6 to 8.
Why is that?

That would be an error.

Kite wind range charts are based on thorough testing and should be used as a rigid guide to when the kite can be used. No doubt Ozone riders flew the 8 and 10 back to back and decided the wind range is the same.

When I was flying foils on land a 10 and 6 or 7 was the perfect combination. 8 and 10 was always too close. Rule of thumb was to miss one size between kites, so a two kite quiver would be 12 and 8 or 10 and 6.
