no doupts you will have fun with your R1V2
Had a session today, it's sooooo good, mostly because it's crazy easy compared to the Sonic, Sonic2, or Elf.
What size did you get ?

I have a sonic 2 13m- bought it used last summer and used it 10 times. It works good for me. But it is a completely different animal than my Hyperlinks- understandably.
I´ve been wondering if a Chronos 2or3 13 m would be more versatile and faster turning. I´m using 20m lines and a 60cm bar.

Compared to my 11m Sonic2, the R1V2 is a LOT easier and more dynamic to fly. Really in a totally different class, honestly.

The Chrono V3 is not really like the HyperlinkV1. It has the turning radius of the Soul, but with more bar forces. Similar lift performance too. If you want less Bar Pressure, and can deal with less stability, then the ChronoV2 is also a good choice if you can find one that it still in good condition.

Chrono V3 vs Hyperlink V1 is like day and night. I don't find too much of bar pressure on my Chrono V3 13m Ultralight. It has an unbelievable combination of easiness to ride and performance. Perfect kite for anyone looking for performance without the hassle of race kite.

Thanks guys.
When I bought the Sonic 2 13m,mWhat I was looking for was a kite for wins too light for the Hyperlink UL 9m. It works for that. But it's a monster kite. Turns like a supertanker.

I use the size infrequently and cannot justify buying a new kite, but a used switchover might be worth it.

Gunnar is right in assuming I'd be happier with a kite that has as close behaviour to the hyperlink as possible. I do like Iight bar pressure, light turning forces, as fast as possible turning.
Was thinking the Sonic 2 is perhaps racier than I need and a Chronos would be better, and can find a used one.

You should also consider the CA Pulsion in that case which aspect ratio is close to HL but lighter and more powerfull loop in very light wind.

Just got back from Germany and had an hour at Flag Beach on the 21m R1v3

Wind: 6-10 Knots shifting constantly from E to SSE.
12m Lines (including leaders)
Foil: Chubanga V1

After 1 hour I can say the following:

1) It has more bar pressure. This gives a better feel for where the kite is, especially during tacks and gybes

2) It is more stable at the edge of the window. Needs a lot or provoking to make the tips come in.

3) It seems to have a smaller turning radius

4) Power comes a bit more progressive on the bar

5) Bridle lines are thinner, Look almost have the thickness of the V2 bridles, but I have not measured.

6) Depower by pushing the bar away seems to come a lot quicker.

7) The Compressor Bag has some new Red print.

The kite was in factory trim. Tomorrow looks pretty windy, so will get a chance to try the 9 or 11m.
