The Little Cloud Pelican has convertible open/closed cells with velcro instead of zippers. I imagine this might save some weight.

Interesting!
The manufacturer doesn’t assemble the panels with glued seems,States that the kite is “not” 100% waterproof and doesn’t use nylon rods on the leading edge.

I hope the V2 will not change too much. I love the way the HyperlinkV1 works.
I second that.
Not even really looking forward for it to come. Whenever it does I will be nervously excited about getting to test it ASAP though. Know that already.

Cheers,
Frank

- velcro dump sock
- closed cell only- no zippers on vents
My favorite system was the convertible Flysurfers where there was a leading edge zipper that converted it to open cell. Top skin zip makes me nervous although the Ozone zips have been worked well for me. Ozone could simply ditch the top zip and make the valve conversion more accessible.

The HL performs very well having had many great sessions with it this year.
The feature to configure the kite to either open or closed cell depending on your needs/terrain is a clever idea, although I don’t use it.
I have made a couple of tiny modifications and is very much a personal preference, added a second Velcro holder to secure the pigtails separately and a zip pull to make it easier to unzip when the zip slider is the pocket.
BTW,the Zips on all my Ozone kites all work perfectly well due to regular preventative maintenance.

what type of regular preventative maintenance you do? I'm curious as I have foils with zips and waiting for the day when it get stuck....

@sony2727
Operate the zip with care and ensure the zip is free of sand before hand, stop if you feel an obstruction.(Don't force it for example)
At home after a session I clean the zip slider and teeth with a small brush to remove any surplus sand then apply silicon lubricant on a cloth wiping the zip pull and teeth.
(You will notice the difference in operation as its’very smooth)
I recently noticed that the black coating on the zips on my Chrono’s had worn off in places due the zip pull tab flapping around as well as general use/wear. I use humbrol enamel black gloss paint and touch up the zip pull with a small artist paint brush.Allow 24 hours to dry and now looks good as new.
(The zip pocket on the hyperlink will prevent the zip pull tab from flapping around, thus reducing the risk of the black coating from wearing away.)
I also clean the pulleys with water to wash out the sand, then squirt silicon lubricant into the pulley and dry off the surplus.
