9m Speed5 (already got that) and 15m Soul (tempted to get that). That should cover me from about 13-30 knots, right? (and pack into the corner of a suitcase.) 200 lbs, twintip.
Basically I want someone to tell me to buy a 15m Soul.
$2650 for 15m Soul vs. $999 for 15m Phantom
I agree competition is fantastic. It’s what has really driven the performance and technology in foil kites the last couple years but that Phantom is kinda shit. Huge, heavy, over complicated bridal. Bad performance and marginal relaunch. If you wanna go the cheap route, then go Panish. If you want a fantastic foil, with YEARS of experience behind its design with a fantastic relaunch and ease of use, go Soul. If it’s a shit kite, it could be free and that wouldn’t make it better.grigorib wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 5:54 pm$2650 for 15m Soul vs. $999 for 15m Phantom
Both would do in lightwind, both would serve for years. Both will be rarely ridden. The phantom being 60-70% off is priced at what foils should cost.
Competition is what we all need
Last I heard Phantom is an Elf kite, which kinda rocked quite some in past years and boys and girls won some competitions on Elfs. It got on crazy sale just recently probably because competition in race gear is stronger than slingshot can afford.Adventure Logs wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 7:44 pmI agree competition is fantastic.
