Hi Folks,
I'm just embarking on my 1st homebuild.
The design is loosely based on this:
http://www.seabreeze.com.au/News/Kitesu ... 49403.aspx

ie
One piece mast + fuse. Ply core.
Planning on Alternating layers of +/-45 and unidirectional carbon.

I'm after any advice/tips on the layup procedure, using vac bag.
There are so many possibilities:

Complete layup in one shot?
Complete layup one side at a time?
Do the mast & fuse separately or together?
Wrap all layers of +/-45 around the mast leading edge or do the two sides and then add strips down leading edge to bond the two sides together?
Layup with mast flat or leading edge up?

Think I may make the first couple of layers glass just to get some practice!

Any tips or advice will be gratefully received.

Thanks
Dave

I would, it will seal the core so it is less likely to change shape as you add laminations.
Adding fibers on one side at a time is also a risk for warping imho.
One shot would be nice, but harder to do.
the +/- 45 should wrap all the way around, since its function is to resist torque.
