I have an older model (2008 I guess) 8m Ozone Access. I have purchased a new push release chickenloop and wish also to change the fixed line that runs from the CL up to the centrelines.
The original is 2 white lines of about 6mm diameter, ideally I'll replace with a single line, .... what sort of replacement load rating should I be looking for ???

Center leaders can range anywhere from 800# to 7000# depending on brand and make. Most of the lines I'm familiar with are in the 2000# range.
Is this an original bar or a replacement through the recall?

Bar is original , and is fine , the chicken loop is the cruddy old velcro one that would be impossible for my GF to reset if she ever had to leash. I am just replacing the CL with a Switch one and I want to also change the centre leaders........ just want to make sure I buy something appropriate.

I have no idea what "centre leaders" are. What are they?
You have the CL rope - red hat - cleat - pulley - pigtail(s).
I think first off, we need to see if you can use 1 line with the Switch CL? I doubt it.
That CL comes with 5mm rope. Amsteel or Marlow excel d12 works very well.
You tie the CL rope onto the loop below the red hat using a bowline knot.
Will the red hat pull down enough with 2 5mm lines?

Either I'm confused or HWK is.
What are "Centre leaders" and what is "2000#"?

Yes sorry , I learned kiting lingo in North America... for most other things I manage in British:)
Yes the Switch CL will work with one or two lines. If one, the CL rope needs to be thin enough to run straight through the CL, that hole is not huge as it is intended for a flag out line ... hence my concern about breaking strain. If I use 2 lines then I need to loop them through the 2 holes at the top of the swivel which is on top of the CL body, I'll then join them at the bottom of the depower/redhat line. The line types and gauges posted will be helpful, I'll figure it out. Thanks for input.

That's crazy, what you want to do with 1 line.
Just buy the switch rope.

For these sorts of lines, the breaking strength is much, much more than you need. The real load rating you need is somewhere around 1,000 pounds so around a 3mm line but that's pretty thin not because of load rating but because the lines wear out thanks to abrasion. It would be fine to replace both 6mm line with a single 5mm line.
