duh.

flex.

on thin fins it could make them track turn a bit better.

big ass windsurfer fins are designed to twist. so this is a vain marketing attempt to be different i'd warrant the fins are so thick you'd need an elephant to flex them.

rainbow is working in conjunction with a line maker and a impact vest maker... the slots are in the fin so that you can get your lines caught in them while inverted resulting in a death spiral which if you servive you will definately need a new set of lines and will probably want an impact vest once the broken ribs have healed and your game enough to get back on the water. ohh and on top of that you'll be wanting to buy another set of fins without slots.
So basically a great idea.. everyone wins!!

Slots in fins originate from far gone windsurf days, the idea was to split the air that is dragged by a fin when spinning out, therefor reducing the spin out effect.

The slots are different from windsurf fins, the slots are perpendicular.

Maybe it is to increase the spin-out effect.

Perpendicular ones were also used, specially near the base (dave kalama model). This principle was taken from the shark fin concept that is also cut away near the base on the trailing edge.
