Hi all,
I am looking for the cabrinha kite that has the lowest bar pressure. I currently have a 9m omega and a 12m Xbow2. I love these kites apart from the bar pressure which is limiting the amount of time i can spend on the water as my left hand cramps up after 30 min.
Want to know which of the current cabrinha range has the lowest pressure and how they compare to what i have.
Thanks
Paul

Question: Are you riding the 9m Omega in 1:1 or 2:1. I always thought that kite had pretty light bar pressure in the 1:1 setting. I can see it happening on the 2:1 setting like the x-bow 2 uses.
If you just want a new kite to cover both kites then go with the 11 X-bow.

Hi,
yes i ride in 2.1 although i don't use the omega much as mostly use the XBow 2. Does the new xbow have a lot less pressure than the old one??
I will try the omega in 1:1 and see if it is ok for me.
Thanks
Paul

Yes, the Crossbows from 2009 and later got quite low bar pressure compared to the previous models.

What about switchblade as i really like my 12m 9m combination and they don't do the Xbow in a 12m anymore?
Cheers

Just set the Omega up in 1:1, you'll feel a world of difference.
2:1 is pretty much obsolete now, there isn't much point for it. You get exactly the same depower in 1:1 mode, you just have to throw the bar a bit further. I might be wrong, but I don't think Cabrinha make any 2:1 control systems now, so they will all be light bar pressure. Also the newer ones have two bridle settings in the 1:1 mode.

Another thing, with the original Xbow you could carry out a mod on the bridle which greatly reduced the bar pressure, but I'm not sure if you can do the same with the Xbow 2, I thought they built it into the Xbow 2?? - might be worth looking at though, if you can't afford a new one.
You'll probably get something like a 2008 Convert well cheap, same as the Omega, but doesn't give you quite the same range as the Xbow, but they are great all round kites.

Thanks everyone I will ty the Omega in 1:1 and if this is ok i'll look at keeping that and just replacing the Xbow2 with a convert or switchblade.
Cheers

Light bar pressure, but kite is slow, especially in the large size 14M. Very stable, smooth, large power range, goes upwind great, long float on jumps.
