Al Merrick Proton (step up 6'2) surfboard

Postby JDMsquirrel » Tue Feb 02, 2016 10:54 am

Anybody used this board for kitesurfing? I'm fairly novice for strapless surfing, but want to get out into some small to overhead waves on holiday. It apparently has lots of rocker. (I'm 6'1, 75kg). I currently have a Cabrinah Skillet 5'6, but dont want to fly with it.

If your used to the skillet, it will feel long and probably a bit slow. Your right, looks like lots of rocker. No reason it shouldn't work with a kite in decent waves, but i bet you need a bit of kite power in the small stuff. Get decent waves and your laughing.

I have been learning on my 6'1" Channel Islands Black Beauty, and although it's not perfect for the application, I already own it.

Unless it's an epoxy board, be prepared for ding city!
