If it is the big ones like these or similar, they cost almost 100 euro
They're everywhere, I'm sure no one in your neighborhood will notice a missing chunk or two!

I could see the potential where it is "Z" shaped at the two handles, and along the front edge:
Or plunge any surface in hot water. Craft them convex over your foot for more rigidity.
Combine thicknesses. That's a lot of foot hooks for 100 EUR
I'm pretty sure a paste made out of melted PET plastic bottles strips would be fine too.
3D printing them needs to be studied too.

For me the 3mm inox support is perfect. Got 3 made for 25 Euros in total here in Tunesia - guess in Europe it will be 25 Euros each.
It will still break above them, so safe but durable.
But 35 Euros + 25 Euros (Slingshot + Inox) looks like a good price to me!

Can you provide a link or more info on this?

NSI Foothooks: They have to break before your ankle does, but the weak spot is a bit too weak.
Guess they should do what I did - reinforce the first part with Inox steel 3mm. This way only the top can break off and you are rid of the weak spot which will prolong their lifespan massively - had 2 breaking out of three within 5 weeks (lots of crashes by several beginners though).
+1...
After breaking two, I attached the hooker with three screws in a row (instead of a single middle one), for better spreading the bending force in the middle of the hook.
For the time being its working OK.
Still thinking in some reinforcement by epoxing a plastic bracket, instead of screwing a metal one.
The epoxy will be used also as filler.
