Re: Old Kitegear

I have the last year of these (2015) and I am use the Best bars with them and they are fine. I use the safety all the time when solo landing and any mishaps, and it works great. As long as there are no terribly worn parts, why replace it? I also use these bars with my other kites since they were new...

Re: Massachusetts kiting locations

The spots are endless, just drive to the coast. North Shore, Boston, South Shore, Cape Cod, Buzzards Bay and all over Rhode Island.

Re: Dry suit seal replacement OR Pyro pro is it easily done?

I have a 2008 Pyro Pro that was great back in the day. But eventually all the seals rotted. It started with the neck which I paid a dive shop to fix it after I tried for a bit with no luck. Once the ankle and wrists rotted, I bought the seals that you use a heat gun with. But again, I could never go...

Re: Any resorts/hotels in Cape Cod near good kitesurf launch

From what I know, there are no resorts on the water. All of the kiting launches you have to drive to, but most places are under a 30 minute drive (with no traffic). So find a cheap place and bring a car. Most towns stop charging for beaches this past weekend so parking is not a problem.

Re: 2008 12m Rise vs Used 10 and 14m Rise?

2008 Rise is a great kite. Very durable. Definitely go for the 2 because you will get more water time. The 10 is an awesome kite! Why not an 8/12 combo? That is what I ride and it works from 14mph-28mph (averages). Want to buy mine ???? :)

Re: ocean rodeo rise 12m 2007?

As long as it has the 2008 bridle upgrade, its a great kite. What do you consider a "good deal"?

Re: Sea Specs? Whats next after Lasik?

I love my seaspecs. I rode with them all summer. I wear contacts and they have made my eyes feel so much better. It only took me 8 years to figure out that kiting with sunglasses was better for me. I've crashed all the time and they dont come off my head and they haven't broken. the 3 for 2 is great...

Re: 2009 Ocean Rodeo Rise Venturi!

Are the 2009 kites out to the demo riders and shops? I am really excited about taking them for a ride! Have the 2009 kites been shipped to shops as of yet? Some stores are showing them "in stock". Hey KiteCodder. From your profile, you live on Cape Cod? Well, Ocean Rodeo was kind enough to send a 2...

Re: Tell me about the Ocean Rodeo Mako Surfboard

I have the 2008 OR Mako surf. Its a fun board. I haven't gotten out on it much this summer but the few times I had, I definitely enjoyed it. I only have ridden it on small wind swell. I definitely need more time on it but I would say that it likes to be ridden powered up (not a light wind board), it...

Re: Kite durability - do kites last longer than 2 years?

I'm on my 3rd set of kites. The previous 2 sets (3 kites) lasted 3 seasons each. After 3 seasons (about 50-70 sessions total per year) they start to fall apart. I have friends that like to get new kites every year or 2 because the resale is higher and they take less of a hit when they buy new ones. ...
