That is which kite gets you higher.
Righto, more to Jumping than that I'd say but okay. I'd say the true C Vegas would yank you higher. Dice will bring you down better and give you more glide...but hey you didn't ask about that did you...
Its all about the height ;)

Cheers for the info.

the other guy has north bar, and drifted for ever until he got it re launched. granted it was very light, wind wise.
high wind, no problem... but stll not user friendly

ps other guy kites since beginning of kiting, like me...so we know what to do..
old school c kite launches easier...

again,..light wind problem....might be shitty when dropped in waves...

Just had my first serious session on the 9m. Spent most of my time on the 12,11 and 8m.

Wow what a kite.cant fault it, I seriously can't. Looping is unreal. Just great lift and hang time. The best size by a mile.

Westozzy can you compare the 11 and 12? I have been flying 11m rebels for years and never liked the 12ms. I ordered a 12m dice over rebel fearing i would be giving up too much needed low end on the 11. I always felt there was a huge difference between 11m and 12m rebels. Do you have any thoughts on 11m v 12m dice and going from an 11m rebel to a 12m dice?

I am glad to hear the 9m is spot on as that has always been my favorite size and generally my go to kite for local conditions.

thx!

Funny you should ask. let me provide this observation. On the 9m and on the 12m my mini fifth line is quite taught, kite seems trimmed spot on. The 12m is a 12m man, but is still quick enough for your powered hooked in freestyle needs, and of course very stable for unhooked. Still functional in the waves but needs a little attention and more park and ride...as it is a 12m!

But both the 9 and 12 give considerable lift and float for old school stuff...

But...both on my brothers and my 11m, that mini fifth is not taught even fully powered, even with the steering lines being shortened...

and the emprical result of this, is it doesn't jump as well in it's sweet spot. I'm scratching my head on this...

my thoughts...they have as always really tuned the 9 and 12 and scaled bridal design accordingly in the other sizes...but I have a feeling they havent got it quite right.

I dont really get bridal design but there is an interplay between the back and fron lines which isn't the same in the 9 and 12...

anyone with bridal geometry experience able to work this one out.

ps you did the right thing getting the 12m, we used to ride 11m rebels 2012, and the low end is similar given correct C kite flying. My mates are out all the time on light wind TT's and their smaller TT's when I'm on my 2013 ozone zephyr. All the talk of not enough low end is frankly BS...learn to fly a C kite! We have no problems whatsoever with low end...a lot of crew have come into the sport spoilt by bow delta driven kites with obvious grunt...those that learnt on the old school C kites are not having a problem at all.

Could have got the 12...but I got the zephyr...still I am contemplating it...not sure what to do about the 11...the power difference is greater than 1m.

Your welcome.

Now I have three kites on the menu, look out for some observations on them...

Nitro 3, New Evo and the New VX. Looking for a boosting 11/12m!!

Tell ya though I don't know what or how north did with that dice, but it's got be stuffed how a fist gen kite can be so darn good...for what I want anyway... :D not too sure how they can improve it to be quite honest.
